Home care

Temperature conditions

The optimum temperature for this plant is 15 - 33 ° C. When the temperature drops to zero, the flower goes into a dormant state.

Lighting

In the wild, griffinia grows in the undergrowth, but at home it should be provided in a well-lit place without direct sunlight.

Care

The bush is very easy to grow at home, just provide it with warmth, shade in summer and humidity.

Substrate

Feels better in cramped conditions, in fertile, well-drained soil. The soil may consist of pieces of pine bark, coconut fibers, sphagnum moss with the addition of pumice, perlite, charcoal or coarse sand.

Feeding

During the period of active growth, 2 times a month.

Flowering time

Plants typically bloom several times a year (mostly in spring).

Air humidity

More than 40%, in winter, when the griffinia is kept in a heated room, spraying is necessary.

Soil moisture

Try to keep the soil evenly moist, but not soggy. In the cold season, reduce watering.

Reproduction

Daughter bulbs and seeds.

Pests and diseases

The plant does not like excess and stagnation of water at the roots - rot may occur.
