Brasilicereus

Description. Brasilicereus is a large columnar cactus up to 4 m in height, the diameter of the dark green stem is about 2.5 cm. Lateral shoots may appear from the base. Ribs 8 - 13, they are clearly defined. The spines are light, brittle, straight, up to 4 cm in length. Areoles pubescent. The flowers are solitary, appearing in the middle or upper part of the stem, greenish-white or white, about 6.5 cm long and 5 cm in diameter, opening at night. The fruits are green or purple, with dry remains of the flower.

Care at home
Temperature conditions
Loves warmth; in winter, keep it at a temperature of at least 10° C.
Lighting
Bright, with light shading on especially hot summer days.
Substrate
Standard cactus mix with coarse sand added, well drained.
Feeding
Monthly with fertilizer for cacti or succulents at half strength.
Air humidity
No need for spraying.
Soil moisture
During the period of active growth, water regularly, reduce the frequency of watering in winter to a minimum.
Transplant
Brasilicereus is repotted in spring. For young specimens, the pot size can be gradually increased. Adult specimens are repotted every 2-3 years or simply replace the top layer of soil about 5 cm thick with fresh soil mixture.
Reproduction
Propagated by seeds or lateral shoots rooted in damp sand.
Pests and diseases
With proper care, the cactus rarely gets sick and is rarely attacked by pests.
Harmful insects can include mealybugs, spider mites and scale insects.
