Origin: Tropics of Asia and Australia. 

Description. The genus "Сurculigo" consists of 12 evergreen, perennial herbaceous plants up to 120 - 150 cm high. The leaves are long - up to 1 m., wide, with parallel veins, green, elegantly curved, have long petioles. The underside sometimes has sparse pubescence. With age, it forms a short stem. Bright yellow flowers with 6 oblong petals are often collected in large brushes. Variegated forms have white stripes on the leaves.

Height. Grows slowly, adult plants reach 120 - 180 cm in height.

Temperature conditions

Tolerates a wide range of temperature conditions and grows well at normal room temperatures, do not expose the flower to temperatures below 12°C.

Lighting

Keep in a well-lit place, but away from direct sunlight. Feels good in partial shade.

Care

An unpretentious species, easily adaptable to various conditions, even beginners can keep it. Remove dead leaves, being careful, as they are very fragile and can also damage healthy and strong leaf blades.

Substrate

A mixture of turf soil, leaf humus, peat and coarse river sand that allows moisture and air to pass through well.

Feeding

During the growth period, feed every 2 weeks; it really likes organic fertilizers.

Misting is not required, but it is worth wiping the large leaves with a damp sponge from time to time to keep them clean. Do not place the curguligo near heating devices and doorways where there are strong drafts.

Keep the soil evenly moist, but not waterlogged. Reduce watering slightly in autumn, the plant does not like even short-term drought.

Transplantation

Transplantation is carried out in the spring, when the bush becomes cramped in the pot and its roots stick out of the drainage holes. When transplanting, try to maintain the same planting depth as before transplanting into fresh soil.

Reproduction

Propagated by daughter shoots during transplantation. By spring sowing of seeds.

Rotting due to stagnant water and excessive watering during the cold season.

The main pests of the flower are scale insects and spider mites.
